Hammond Family Vacation Day 2

Day 2 started really early since we went to bed pretty early the night before. We went to breakfast at the lodges diner and the breakfast food was just as amazing as the dinner food. Half way through breakfast someone mentioned Fathers Day and my heart sunk! I had completely forgotten it was Sunday/Fathers Day that day! I felt so horrible! I looked at Kamrin and told him Happy Fathers Day and told him how sorry I was I had forgot til that point. He was very understanding about it seens how when your on vacation the days kinda seem to blend together and you just focus on that days agenda rather then what day it actually is. Ill do a post for Fathers Day later. Anyways after breakfast we packed and loaded up and headed into the Grand Canyon. Our first stop was the north rims visitors center and from there we went to all the popular sites all along the north rim. In the late afternoon we headed back to the Rims Lodge to check in to our cabins and shop at the gift shop. We got in our rooms and I got the kids into a bath since we were going to be eating at a fairly fancy looking restaurant. We headed to dinner and after being there for a bit Jaydan started acting really out of it. He kept holding his head up and I figured he was just so exhausted. After eating for a bit he just kept getting worse so I decided to take him back to lay down while everyone finished. Right as I went to stand up he said he needed to throw up and luckily Shaless was quick and grabbed a bread basket for him to throw up in. I felt so bad for him and for the people trying to eat having to listen to throwing up. After he threw up I took him to the cabin. I kept trying to get him to drink Gaterade but he wouldnt at all. He seems so out of it. After he fell asleep I went into the other room connected to ours to hang out with Kamrin sisters and after a while he started crying so I went and took him to lay down on Pashells and Grans bed so I could finish a card game with Pashell and he had no idea where we were and even pointed to the table and asked if thats where I was going to sleep. When Kamrin came back to the cabin I told him I thought Jaydan had heat stroke even with everything we had been doing to try and prevent it. He agreed after we talked about all the things that had happened with Jay. Kamrin ran to the car and got him crackers and more Gaterade. We had him eat lots of crackers and 2 sippys full before we would let him go to sleep and sure enough that did the trick. He started acting so much better and by the next morning he was good as new.

Hammond Family Vacation Day 1

Every year we go on a vacation with all of Kamrins family. This year we went to the Grand Canyon and the headed to Rockin R Ranch. On Saturday June 19th we all met at Kamrins parents house at 6 am! We loaded up and headed out. Even though we took our van my little family rode in Kamrins grandmas cross over so the kids could watch movies on her dvd player and also so the taller people could have more stretching room in the van. We made a stop at a place called Cove Fort which is a church historical place where President Hinkleys grandparents used to run. We watched a movie on it then took the tour of it. We made it about half way through the tour when I walked into the girls bed room when I started feeling weird. The lady who was giving us our tour started telling us about the room and her voice started sounding like she was getting farther and farther away. I walked out of the room and leaned on the stone wall to try and brace myself. Everything started going dark at that point and then I hear my mother in law say my name and she started talking to me but I have no idea what she was saying. I remember her grabbing me and next thing I know I am on the ground and everyone was around me seeing if I was okay. Im not sure how long I was out but I know it was long enough that someone took my jacket off and put it under my head. Luckily my mother in law helped brace my fall and my father in law caught my head so I didnt hit in on the cement. I have no idea why I passed out. I had eaten and drank alot at that point. I wasnt hot either so I really have no idea what went wrong. I was more concerned about the baby then myself at that point. Kamrin took me back to the car while everyone finished the tour. It was pretty scary but I felt okay after I passed out just felt a little off but not like I was going to pass out again. After that we headed to Beaver and stopped at a diner for lunch. After lunch we got shakes from Arbys! Yum! While in Beaver we stopped at the cheese factory there and bought tons of cheese curds! They are my favorite!!! After we finished everything in Beaver we headed to the lodge we were staying at the first night which was just outside of the north rim of the Grand Canyon. When we checked in we found out they only gave us 2 rooms instead of the 2 we reserved. We had to plan sleeping arrangements different but it all worked out in the end though. Once we all got our luggage in our rooms and knew what beds we were all in we went to the lodges diner to eat dinner. Their food was AMAZING!!! After dinner most of us were so tried from all the driving we fell asleep way early!

Big Girl Bed

Maddie was ready for a big girl bed. The way she let us know was she began climbing out of her crib every time she would wake up. She never climbed out when she wasnt supposed to though only when she would just wake up. The first time she did it she had Kamrin and I laughing so hard. She had called for me when she woke up and I told her to wait just a minute so I could fully wake up. Well apparently I took to long cause I heard her door squeak a bit and thought maybe Jaydan had went into her room. After a second she poked her little head around the corner with a huge smile on her face and said "I did it all by myself!!" She was so proud of herself. The next couple times she would call for me and if I took too long for her she would climb out. Then she wouldnt even call for me anymore she would climb out as soon as she woke up. Her crib is one that can turn into a toddler bed so Kamrin made the adjustments to give her a big girl bed til we could get her a pink princess one. She has done pretty good with the transition. Of course there has been a few times we have had to battle her to stay in there and go to sleep but hey we still have to do that with Jay and he has been out of a crib for over 2 years :-)

Very bitter sweet moment for mommy!

Pirate Island

Once a month Kamrins grandma takes us all out to dinner to celebrate everyones birthdays who are in that month. June we have Kamrins brother Eastons, Kamrins brother in law Jareds, Jaydans and mine. With it being Jaydans we try and make it not just a restaurant but a fun kid place too. I had heard of this place down the street a ways from BYU and it sounded perfect! Its called Pirate Island and its basically a pirate themed Chuck E Cheese. I had only ever heard great things about it so I suggested it and Jared agreed to let us do it there even though it would use up his birthday dinner too. Friday June 4th we headed to Utah county for some pizza and fun. When we got there they gave us our own room basically and it was like we were eating in a cave! There was treasure and everything dangling from the walls. All the workers dress up like pirates. There was 13 of us there and we only ordered 2 pizzas. They were the biggest pizzas I have ever seen in my life!! To give you an idea of how big they were we all ate at least 2 pieces (I think) and I know Kamrin and his brother Easton ate 6 pieces each! Yes, my husband can eat ALOT!! Anyways with all 13 of us eating these 2 pizzas we were able to take 2 pizza sized boxes full of left overs!! They ordered 2 different kinds of pizza for each pizza so there was 4 different types to choose from. I tried the chicken alfredo and meat one and they were both AMAZING!!! Their pizza kicks Chuckie E Cheese and Jungle Jims pizzas butts by far!! Their pizzas are so so so YUMMY!! Their bread sticks are some of my favorites that I have ever had in my life! Anyways after eating dinner they brought all us birthday people ice cream and sang to us Jaydan thought it was SO awesome that pirates were singing Happy Birthday to him :-) After we were all done we went and played in the arcade for a while. Everyone put their tickets together and let the Jaydan and Madyson have them all. There was 5 shy of 800 tickets! They both got alot of fun stuff with all the tickets. We all had so much fun. I cant wait to go back there again. The kids h ave been asking to go ever since :-) Thank you Gran for always spoiling us all!!!

He loved pirates singing to him!

15 Weeks 2 Days

One thing I regret with my other pregnancies is not keeping up on belly pictures as I grew. I took pictures here and there during them but not consistent at all. Im going to try really hard with this one to take pics at least every few weeks if not more. I took my first really belly shots today. According to my dates which I think are accurate Im 15 weeks and 2 days today. From my very first ultrasound he has been measuring ahead of my dates. Ill have my full medical ultrasound towards the end of June or beginning of July and thats when we will find out for sure if our due date is November 22nd for sure or if they will move it up since he has measured bigger. I would love to have the date move up cause then its that much sooner we get our little guy with us :-)

Jaydans Preschool Graduation

Last night my little Jaydan graduated from his first year of preschool! I cant believe he has already completed 1 preschool year! The graduation was held at Nickelcade and even after alot of problems and changes it turned out fun. They each got a diploma, 2010 glasses and a grocery bag of fun stuff! Kamrins grandma, his sister, her husband and my mom joined us there for a while to support Jaydan and to play some games. Jaydan loved the games and Maddie was more into riding the little rides except when she got to pull tickets out of the machines for us :-) After he got his diploma Gran, Shaless and I came back to my house to finish getting our dinner ready. Kamrin, Jared and the kids stayed and played more games and cashed in their tickets. When they came home our nacho bar was ready and when the kids went to bed we all watched the Biggest Loser finale! It was such a great night!!

I am so very proud of Jaydan! He really did a great job his first year of preschool! He learned so much and I know he loved it so much. Im so happy with our decision to put him in my aunts school. She does such a good job and makes it so fun for the kids. Jaydan was so excited to show me all the stuff he made and to tell me everything he learned. He is truly an amazing little boy and I could be more proud of him. He is so tender hearted and such a great big brother. He always is so concerned for his little sister and is already so protective of his baby brother. He always comes to make sure everyone is soft when touching my belly and he comes to kiss and rub my belly constantly. I love everything about my son. Way to go Jaydan on completing your first year of preschool! We love you!!
