Half of us Hammonds have June birthdays. Brynlee turned 2, Jaydan turned 8 and I turned the big 30! For Brynlee's birthday we played, got slurpees and had a little party for her that evening. On Jaydan's birthday we spent the day with friends at a fun trampoline place called Airbourne. That was our second time there and its a blast!! Afterwards we had a party for him that evening also. For mine I asked my sister to take my kids overnight the Friday before my birthday which landed on a Sunday so we could celebrate. We went to the hospital to meet our new niece Sloane (Shaless and Jared's daughter) then I chose to go to Olive Garden for dinner. We were thinking of going to a late movie but I decided to go home because I wasnt feeling very well. I took some medicine and went to bed. A couple hours later I woke up in the worst pain I had ever had. My stomach felt like it was going to explode. I was so scared. For the next 4-5 hours I was in the bathroom throwing up and in awful pain. I woke Kamrin up to ask him to give me a blessing. I was so scared because of how bad the pain was and I started throwing up charcoal looking stuff. He gave me a blessing and was still pretty out of it so he went back to bed. Around 6-7am he came back out to check on me. I was in a ball on the couch sobbing. I had finally stopped puking for a while but the pain wasnt easing. He asked me my symptoms again now that he was fully awake and as soon as I said throwing up black charcoal he instantly got up and went to the computer. He came out and said he was so sorry he went back to bed and we needed to go to the hospital. Once we got to the ER they gave me an IV and lots of meds to help with the pain and help me relax. After many tests they determined I needed to be admitted and have emergency surgery and have my gallbladder removed the following day which was my 30th birthday! Happy birthday to me right?!?! I was so miserable. I was so bummed that I would be having surgery on my 30th birthday. I was scared. When I had my appendix out it was worse than child birth. Surgery is AWFUL!! The next morning the surgeon came in to check in me. After an hour or so they took me back to surgery. Surgery went went but waking up was a bit rough. Once they got me awake and pain under control they let me come home. All the nurses were so sweet and made me a Happy Birthday sign when I was in surgery. When we got home I went straight to bed and slept most of the day. The only thing that sounded good was waffles so my mom was sweet and made them for me. For the next week I slept most of the time and when I was awake I was in so much pain. Surgery recovery is AWFUL!! At least the kids had great birthdays :-)
